


Attendees are not expected to have prior programming experience. The second part of the course introduces the use of the RenderMan Shading Language (RSL). RIB les enable modeling and animation applications to pass information about 3D scenes to RenderMan compliant renderers such as 'prman' and '3delight'. In the rst part of the course attendees will gain suf cient familiarity with RenderMan's scene description protocol to enable them to edit and manipulate RIB les. The full-day course is an intensive, hands-on practical introduction to the RenderMan system and the use of Pixar's 'prman' and DNA's '3delight' renderers, both of which are widely used in animation and digital effects studios.
